The Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. Day 3.
The best article for me this year is Waiting and Becoming: A Lesson in Patience by Lissa Rankin of Owning Pink.
Waiting and becoming is a perfect second descriptor of how I have described much of what I’m doing this year as, “living in the question.”
Best line of the entire article? “Stop resisting.”
Okay, I have a late entry. Today I found another favorite article also on Owning Pink. It fits perfectly with the above article. As it reads in Your Divine Assignment: Doing the work You Love by Tama J. Kieves, I feel this was written just for me. Here are my favorite quotes from all five sections but I suggest you read the entire thing. It’s worth it.
1. It Takes an Intermission to Find a Mission
“Most of us have to find time before we can find ourselves.”
2. Honoring Your Crazy Love
“Remember, you’re not looking for a career answer. You’re looking for aliveness.”
3. Trade in Your Label for a Ticket
“It’s hard to be in transition. It feels like standing naked at a cocktail party. ‘So what do you do?’ strangers ask. You may want to say, ‘Journal, freak out, and read self-help books. You?’ The culture may demand definition, but your soul craves expansion.
4. Only the Tender can Breed the Fierce
“You cannot hear an inspired voice while underestimating yourself.”
5. Just Start Dancing and the Band Will Find You
” ‘You can’t plan an inspired life.’ You will never know the way, but the way knows the way.”
Ahhhh…so good.

I totally love Owning Pink and the article yesterday was definitely a big AHA for me as well.. and. like you, I’d already written my Best Article post! But that’s okay, I featured another Owning Pink article, and that’s all great too!
Hello, Pinkie!
Your blog is so beautiful and inspiring. I aspire to have mine look that good some day. For now, baby steps. I’m just learning how to post! Thanks for the comment. See you on Owning Pink. I have a feeling I’ll be posting more about it this month as it certainly is a Best of 2009 for me in many ways.

Sweet Danielle,
Thank you for honoring Owning Pink with this post- and thank you for honoring YOURSELF with this blog! Starting a daily writing practice can be such a mind-blowing tool for expansion. And as a writer, I’m a big believer in what The Artist’s Way author Julia Cameron calls “Daily Pages.” To be a fabulous writer, you must write. Write write write until the words flow and writing is as easy as breathing. You are well on your way, girlfriend! Congratulations!
Much love,
Lissa
