Best Challenge 2009 or Living in the Question.

The Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. Day 9.

Today’s prompt for Best Challenge reads: Something that really made you grow this year. That made you go to your edge and then some. What made it the best challenge of the year for you?

My 2009 challenge is what I call Living in the Question. I’ve been doing it beautifully, messily, perfectly, impatiently and acceptingly.

For someone who likes to have a plan, see the big picture, envision the finish line and have the direct route all mapped out, this Living in the Question business has indeed been a challenge.

I prefer to operate in get-‘er-done mode so this new mode of wait-listen-be is not the most comfy spot. In fact, I’ve been more uncomfortable this year than any other time in my life. It’s been a year of transformation, recalibration, expansion and waiting and becoming.

I have reached the turning point and am now making the turn. Sometimes I feel dizzy, literally.

Going back to how it used to be isn’t an option and the new path is appearing under my feet with each step, not a moment before. It no longer works for me to intellectualize my way through, map it out or look to others for the answers. (Believe me, I’ve tried.)

I have to feel my way and be my own guide. I can get advice, listen to those who love me,  look at how others are doing it , but in the end, the answers lie only within me. They always have.
